What is the PDSS?
PDSS offers a service which provides a variety of practical, social and emotional support. PDSS enables people to set themselves realistically achievable goals and then provides the support needed to achieve those goals.
Who can use the service?
if you are aged between 18 and 65, and have a physical disability, Acquired brain injury and/or sensory impairment, then you could make use of what the PDSS has to offer.
What can PDSS help me with?
Social Support:
they can help provide a support worker to assist you to go out socially, to help you get to know people and places in your area.
Practical Support:
they can help you to learn or relearn skills so that you can become more independent.
If you are moving into a home or your own they can help you set yourself up in your new home.
Emotional Support:
it sometimes helps to talk problems through with someone else. Your Support Worker can offer advice and suggestions.
